The association is a not-for-profit organisation founded in Geneva, Switzerland, in April 1997. Its aim is to improve the alleviation of pain in hospitalised, home and hospice-based patients who are suffering from cancer, illness or painful treatments.

With this objective in mind, the Association tries to promote its campaigns internationally, on a multilingual basis:

• Towards a pain-free hospital
• Towards a pain-free environment
• Living free of pain at home
• Living with cancer without pain

We hope to spread these initiatives, already present in North America and in Europe, throughout the world thanks to the assistance of persons and organisations committed to fighting pain.
