We aim to:

• Promote the general well-being and the alleviation of pain of all patients
• Encourage and foster all local, regional and national initiatives aiming to alleviate pain, namely:
• Patients in pain suffering from cancer
• Patients in pain that are hospitalised
• Promote the establishment and pursuit of systematic campaigns that are inclusive such as
• Experiencing pain-free cancer
• Towards a pain-free hospital, which brings together community and hospital structures to improve the treatment of pain in hospitalised or home-based patients
• Vers un milieu de vie sans douleur

• Promote the diffusion and spread of these programmes through effective communications
• Raise awareness of and information to health professionals through appropriate training to develop their ability to evaluate and treat pain
• Raise awareness among patients, families and carers of the importance of alleviating pain and the existence of clinical means to do so
• Foster evaluation measures of the effects of these programmes
